Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack (Backend focused)

At AMENTOTECH we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer (MERN Stack) to join our development team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, Nest.js React, Next.js and Node.js). You will play a key role in architecting solutions, mentoring junior developers, and driving best practices across the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop high-performance, scalable web applications using the MERN stack
• Build reusable, efficient, and reliable code with a strong focus on performance and security
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers
• Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
• Participate in architectural decisions and technical strategy planning

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Around 4 to 6 years of professional experience in full-stack development
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), React.js, Next.js, Node.js, Nest.js and Express.js
• Experience working with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
• Experience with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail is a MUST

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in Lead roles is a plus
• Experience with TypeScript
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
